Dr. Boyd graduated, with honors,  from the University of Idaho in 1967, with a B.S. degree. He earned his dental degree from the University of Oregon Dental School in 1971, again graduating with honors.  Dr. Boyd served a dental internship at Wilford Hall Medical Center, the largest U.S.A.F. hospital, after dental school.  He was stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base as a general dentist form 1972-1974.  In 1976, Dr. Boyd completed his Certificate in Endodontics at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center where he also earned a Masters Degree in Histology.  Dr. Boyd served as the base endodontist from 1976-1979 at Sheppard Air Base Hospital.  Dr. Boyd started his own private practice in 1979, joined by Dr. Underwood in 1981.   

Dr. Boyd's emphasis on emergency care and patient comfort has carried through to his entire staff and throughout his schedule. He has built his practice to ensure that people who are in pain have the ability to be treated right away.  Same day appointments are made available to those who are in pain and cannot wait. For patients who are anxious, have TMJ issues or special needs, IV Sedation is also available.  Dr. Boyd has been administering IV Sedation since 1971 for these patients to get the treatment they need. Dr. Boyd maintains a philosophy of treating everyone as he would like to be treated.

    In his free-time, Dr. Boyd enjoys  hunting, fishing, watching his horses compete in show jumping, and of course, DUCK FOOTBALL and BASKETBALL!
